Are you doing what matters?
Me making a percolated coffee on Mt Stirling. It's the simple pleasures when you are away camping.
Everything tastes better even the super strong coffee from my hike percolator, finished with a good squeeze of condensed milk.
This pic is me in one of the stockman's (renovated) huts on the mountain. I, and a few blokes I hike with, did a snowshoe hike up the mountain, camped out in the snow, then hiked back out. Stunning!
Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.
The book introduces the idea that getting rich and being happy are not solely reliant on luck or innate traits but are skills that can be learned. It highlights Naval Ravikant, an entrepreneur, philosopher, and investor, who has garnered global attention for his principles on wealth-building and long-term happiness. The "Almanack of Naval Ravikant" is a compilation of his wisdom and experiences from the past decade, featuring insights from his interviews and reflections. The book is not a conventional how-to guide but rather a collection of Naval's words that aim to guide readers in finding their own unique path toward a happier and wealthier life. Again great to get a different perspective on life and money.
3) A serious coach I’m working with to do something...
Paul Jayilian at Empire Fitness
I decided for the rest of this year I would put in some serious training around reshaping my body. Yep, I’m having a crack at bodybuilding. I believe in surrounding yourself with the best when you want to achieve something so I went looking for someone who specializes in body building and body recomposition and found Paul Jayilian across the road from our Rosebud Practice. Paul has competed over 70 times and has won Novice Champion, Allstate Champion, Victorian Champion, Australian Champion, FitX Champion, Arnold Classic Champion, Kahma Classic Champion, and World Campion. He is a no mucking-around, old school, bodybuilder. I am eating a lot of protein at the moment to go with 6 days of lifting plus 6 days of cardio. The results have started to show since starting 4 weeks ago. Thanks to having someone keep me accountable and create standards around the discipline, sacrifice and effort required.
P.s. The quote of the week is...
“If you are not willing to risk the unusual, you will have to settle for the ordinary.” Jim Rohn
I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, the moral of the story, or the learning you would share.
Have a ripper finish to your week.
Are you doing what matters?
Cheers, Dr. Ben
