Family getaways in the sun.
Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.
2) Family getaways...
Over the weekend we picked up our camper and headed west to Torquay for a short weekend getaway with my sisters and their families. Growing up, my best memories are the times I spent with my cousins. As an only child for most of my childhood, cousins were like my siblings. I feel the same applies to my daughter. She is an only child and when we are away with all her cousins, the sounds of giggling, squealing, whispers and general havoc fills my cup all the way up to the brim. Not only are they off the devices, they are outside kicking the footy, playing tag, riding their bikes, going on adventures and just being kids. I’ve also never laughed so hard just spending time with those I love and creating some precious memories.
Give me more cheek hurting laughs and whispers in the dark and I’ll live happily ever after.
3) Fueling my body - continuation...
My last post was about eating the right foods to fuel myself and get the most out of my days.
A little update: there were daily headaches for a couple of weeks, my skin broke out and got the dryest it has in a long time. But I felt good on the inside, my energy levels were much more sustained throughout the day, I felt happier and less grumpy and no more bloat!
There have been a couple of days where I have eaten some not so great choices, and the immediate effects I felt within my body was a shock. Didn’t feel great and the bloat and sluggish feelings instantly returned. Staying strong and feeling better every day, food really is medicine and the effects it can have on our bodies is incredible. Moderation is key for me, still enjoying the foods I love but making sure my body comes first and I give it what it needs first.
P.s. The quote of the week is...
"Don’t wait for someone to bring you flowers… Plant your own garden." - Luther Burbank
I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, the moral of the story, or the learning you would share.
Have a ripper finish to your week.
Are you doing what matters?
Cheers, Dr. Ben
