Pic of the Week

My setup at a local cafe, just behind my Chiropractic office. Great to go somewhere new to think new. You see, here is the thing… the kind of thinking you have always done has got you to where you are now. If you want to do something different if you want your life to change you have got to change your thinking. Sometimes that old thinking is being supported (unresourcefully) by our current same environment. I often find it useful when I want to make a change, to take myself out of the normal environment. It includes going for my morning walk down a new street, taking a different route to work, ordering something different for lunch, or getting away from my usual workspace and sitting at a cafe to do my work. Where could you go to think differently this week?


Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.


1) A new App I discovered...

HIPCAMP

This great app allows you to find and book campgrounds from national parks to wineries with a spare paddock. Some amazing locations if you are wanting somewhere a bit different and away from the crowds. I found it great when looking for a place where you can have a campfire. Lots of “traditional” campgrounds will not allow open fires. Definitely check it out for your next campout.


2) A great event I have had fun planning...

Annual Golf Tournament

Who does not love planning an event? Whether it is a birthday party, anniversary, or golf day, they are heaps of fun. Dr. Callum and I are extremely excited about this event. The Annual Mornington Peninsula Chiropractic Golf Tournament. Now it is our inaugural one so there is plenty to plan. We have 16 spots available, golf buggies for those not keen to walk, 19th hole drinks and nibbles, and a prize pool of over $1,500 to be won. I know, super cool! It is for Chiro clients only and registration is just $55. Pretty much a no-brainer if you can play golf as you are bound to win big. Interested? It is on Sunday, March 28th. 3) A great book I am reading again...

The Tao Made Easy

With the exception of the Bible, the classic Tao Te Ching is the best-selling book in history. In this book Alan Cohen (who if you get the audiobook is a delight to listen to) takes the lofty and enigmatic concepts of the Tao and brings them down to earth in modern language with lots of practical examples readers can apply to their daily lives to get real and lasting results.

An ancient Chinese blessing wishes, ‘May you live in interesting times.’ That wish has come true for many of us. Alan through the work of the Tao helps us understand how to deal with it. If you are wanting a glimpse at powerful ancient Chinese wisdom and how you can apply it to your life this book is amazing! Ps. many of the classic quotes we use in modern time come from the philosopher and writer of the tao Lao Tzu, just like the quote below.
