3 THINGS THURSDAY - 3rd June 2021

SJ’s famous peanut butter cookies. AMAZING! After a mate of mine bought me a couple of these cookies in on one of his recent Chiropractic sessions, I just had to get the recipe. Super simple to make and seriously good to eat. In fact, they are so good it would be a crime not to share the recipe with you. I love the generosity of people around food and the effort they go to in sharing their recipes. (Acts of service is my “love language”)

Note: If you cook them you MUST send me a pic of the final result with your thoughts on how good they taste.

SJ’s Famous Peanut Butter Cookies.

1 and 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
Vanilla
2 cups packed peanut butter (the Bega kind with salt and sugar added) can be crunchy or smooth. I prefer crunchy.
Lightly whisk eggs and sugar and vanilla then mix in peanut butter.
Scoop into 16 balls on 2 cookie sheets and slightly flatten by tapping them with a hot spoon dipped in boiling water. Sprinkle with Maldon salt flakes generously and freeze for 15 minutes on a tray. Cook in 160C oven for 17 minutes.

Make sure you do freeze them as it helps them keep their shape and keep the temp of the oven at 160 as they overcook easily at a higher temp and they dry out!!! I’ve made that mistake before.

1) Great Book (workshop) I’ve just listened to...

The Amazing Development of Men

This Audiobook by Alison Armstrong helps women (AND MEN) make sense of men's evolution... The stages of development describe the lifelong process by which a man's sense of self evolves. Predictable and unavoidable, these stages determine what men live for and what they can't live without. Understanding the differences between knights, princes, and kings is critical for success in romantic relationships, raising sons, and working effectively with men.

As a man listening to this book, for the first time, I understood some of my own behaviours and feelings over the last 52 years. This is a must-read for all men (even though written for women), and for women. I’m about to read her other audiobook “Understanding Women - Unlock the Mystery”.

3) Something I’m getting used to...

Working from home.

Since we have expanded the chiropractic practice in the last week, I had to move my coaching office out of the practice building and take it home. Whilst I have a beautiful office at home (environment supports performance) it’s just weird not to be around the team all the time. I've also noticed the fridge and pantry seem to be calling to me all day, especially during the times when I’m bored or doing something difficult.

Even though all my coaching is online, and where I am shouldn’t matter, being home is different. I’m interested in who loves working from home and who doesn't. Send me a quick email and let me know. Ben@DrBenCarvosso.com.
