Pic of the Week
For those of you that have goals, run a business, or have a health training program I recommend you get yourself a Operations room, or War room (Study) wall. This is a pic of my Operations room's "Dashboard and Navigation".It's where I track my performance, put my goals, Envisioning Board, and Kanban board. If you have one I'd love to see a pic of it.
Here are the top three things have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.
1) A movie I've watched...
Hector and the search for happiness. Loved this movie. It's about a guy who is disillusioned with the tedium of his existence, psychiatrist Hector (Simon Pegg) confesses to his girlfriend that he feels he is a fraud for dispensing recommendations to patients who never seem to improve or get any happier. He considers breaking out of his lackluster routine and discovering what makes happiness.
Watch the Trailer
HERE.
Be warned it's a movie that makes you think about your life.
2) A book I'm reading...
David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants is a non-fiction book written by Malcolm Gladwell one of my fav authors. The book focuses on the probability of improbable events occurring in situations where one outcome is greatly favored over the other. The book contains many different stories of these underdogs who wind up beating the odds, the most famous being the story of David and Goliath.
It's full of stories of success and how amazing humans truly are.
3) Something I am getting better at...
Using a Kanban Board. I mentioned it above in my pic of the week. Its a simple system for getting stuff done. It came from the masters of production efficiency the Japanese. HERE is the Wikipedia explanation and a 90sec video that gives you the basic idea.
What could you apply it to in your business or at home in your personal life?
Ps. My favorite quote this week is "You can be right or you can be happy." Gerald Jampolsky.
I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, moral of the story, or learning you would share.
Have a ripper finish to your week.
Are you doing what matters?
Cheers, Dr. Ben
