Pic of the Week
I know I talk about starting your day TURNED ON but I don't recommend doing it this way. Early morning run along a back roads of Nusa Due in Bali, I felt a slight buzz as I passed this black cable whilst focusing on the oncoming traffic. Who needs power poles, and ladders when you can just use a tree and hang the high voltage cable at shoulder height.
Here are the top three things have made a difference in my holiday week in Bali.
They might also be useful for you, or not.
1) An App I've used…
GoJek and Grab Like Uber but better. This cool app in Indonesia (Bali) allows you to order a motorbike instead of a car for transport. The driver arrives with a helmut for you to wear and on the back you get. Super cheap. A trip from Nusa Dua to Kuta (45min) cost $3. You can order Car, Bike, even food delivery. These cool Apps must exist in other countries. Give them a go. Heaps more fun, and you get to experience the sights, sounds and smells of the country.
2) A book I'm reading…
FOCUS - The hidden driver of excellence. Must admit it has taken me a while to get through this one. Mostly because I couldn't focus with all the goings on around the pool. For me the gem was the power of not focusing, and instead allowing your mind to wander or daydream. Great book to understand the different aspects of the brain and how to use focus and not focus.
3) Stuff I'm listening to…
Fearless Motivation Speeches. Well did I cop some flack for my Nickelback honesty last week. Some people just have no taste in quality. Something to balance it out is the other playlist that fills my iTunes is Motivational Speeches. (11 hours of it) Great at the gym, out running near power lines or before doing something that scares you like doing a speech. My favourite track is Self Made. Interesting the concept that we are ALL "Self made". take a listen
Ps. My favorite quote this week is "When I'm tired, I rest. I say, I can't be a superwoman today.” Jada Smith
I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, moral of the story, or learning you would share.
Have a ripper finish to your week.
