Video of the Week

Sorry Lisa, shirt on for this one. “Back to the grindstone.” Imagine that, turning up to do your life’s work every day and calling it the grindstone. So blessed to do what I love.

Yep in the new practice for this video, and as I mentioned it was Thursday and I am a day behind schedule.

Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.

1) A new style I’m wearing...

Military Grade Haircut. Don’t know if you have had this experience of giving your hairdresser a guide and the outcome was different from what you expected. Now I’m up for a change (it’s as good as a holiday) but I’ve just had a holiday. Anyway, there are only 3 days between a good and bad haircut so roll on next week. The moral of this story is…

“The meaning of your communication is the results you get.” If you don't like the results it’s because YOU didn't communicate effectively. Take responsibility.

2) A new team member in my Chiropractic Business...

Dr. Callum Armstrong. Super pumped to have Dr. Callum join the team. I’ve been a solo practitioner for the last 5 years and I’m excited to get back to having a team around me. I can suck at management but love leadership. Starting someone new in your team takes a lot of your assets of time, energy and sometimes sanity. Assets that are worth it if done well. I’m curious to know if you have any keys to great leadership?

If you see him around I’d love you to say hi and help make him feel welcome and part of our community. See his BIO Below.

3) A new injury...

Runner knee (+IKEA furniture knee)Following hours of kneeling down in the reno and furniture construction at the new practice, I got a little sore on the front of my knee. I then wisely decided what I needed to do was lots of running with a weighted adventure race vest. The combination of these two great decisions resulted in me becoming a robot man.

Time to take some of my own medicine, rest, Ice and do stretches for the next 3-4 weeks.

Meet Dr Callum…

Having been involved for the last 20 years in Chiropractic (having been adjusted since the age of 18 months) you would have assumed Dr. Callum would have understood the importance and value of regular chiropractic care.

At the age of 14 (like most kids) he became disconnected with the importance of his health and more connected to the importance of football, theatre and of course girls. He felt happy, had no pain, without a worry in the world. However, during the next period of his life, Dr. Callum just started to notice he was feeling a bit off with neck and back pain. He just felt like he was getting sick more often, felt fatigued, and stressed. It was then he realized the only major factor that had been altered over that period of time was the lack of regular Chiropractic care.

This led him back to resuming his regular Chiropractic care. Within the first week of treatment, Dr. Callum’s neck issue had resolved and he was able to complete his daily tasks pain-free and other health factors he was experiencing also improved. At this point, it became obvious to Dr. Callum that his ultimate future would reside in this field of health and inspired him to become a Chiropractor himself.

Dr. Callum Armstrong graduated from RMIT University with a Bachelor of Health Science and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic).

With a keen interest in all sports and the performing arts, he sees a huge opportunity of growth within these networks where Chiropractic care has not traditionally been used or understood.

Outside of Chiropractic, Dr. Callum’s second passion is singing, dancing and acting. Most recently seen in “Mamma Mia” at the Frankston Arts Centre with PLOS Musical Productions. What’s fascinating is whilst he loves performing on the stage, he also loves performing on the footy field (his third passion). Where he was found most of his teenage years playing for Mt. Eliza Football Club (winning 2 best and fairest’s in premiership years).

Living and being raised all of his life on the Mornington Peninsula, Dr. Callum is thrilled to be joining a practice so close to home. He is excited by the opportunity to educate people on the benefits of optimal spinal function.

Dr. Callum is available Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Ps. My favorite quote this week is : “Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.” - Theodore Roosevelt

I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, moral of the story, or learning you would share.

Have a ripper finish to your week.
