Pic of the Week

I took this picture last night at home. The whole family (+ 2 boyfriends) were hanging out in the kitchen working and watching Eden make Gnocchi. Nothing like adversity to bring families closer together. To me, this picture represents everything that is required in times of uncertainty. Home (especially the kitchen), food and family. Essential ingredients to ground you and make you feel safe. The Gnocchi (Eden’s specialty) was amazing.

Where is your “home” in times of uncertainty?

Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.

1) A great afternoon I had...

Checking to see if my neighbours “R OK”. Over the last couple of days, I wandered the streets around the practice and paid a visit to the local businesses in Mornington Industry Park. YES, I kept a safe distance and used up their hand sanitiser, or we chatted out on the path. We talked about how they were doing, their concerns and I shared mine. We talked about hope and life on the other side of this crisis. Importantly they and I left knowing we were not alone in our business journey and that if we needed each other we would be there for a chat.

Who do you know that needs a chat for you and them? Give them a call, pay them a visit from afar. More than ever we need to stay connected in our separation.

2) An interview I had with...

Angelina from Breathe Me.Great to catch up with Angelina from Breathe Me to talk about the power of breath to give you the grounding and strength during these tricky times and beyond. Angelina also shared with me a simple 5 breath strategy to calm your mind and increase your awareness. So why is breath important and how does it help? Watch the Facebook live interview to find out, or go check out their website for some amazing resources. They have an amazing offer for our clients, to help through these times of uncertainty and help you thrive. Go HERE.

3) Something novel I did on Saturday night...

Have dinner with Friends (ON ZOOM).Yep Crazy. That sat in their homes with their dinner and a bottle of wine and we sat in ours. We connected Zoom from my phone to our big screen TV and chatted and laughed over dinner. One couple was in quarantine from returning from the USA and the other couple was self quarantining due to health challenges. Much prefer real face to face but it was a bit of fun and helped bring some novelty during the novel coronavirus.

Ps. Quote from one of my greatest mentors: “The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” Maya Angelou

I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, moral of the story, or learning you would share.

Have a ripper finish to your week.
