Pic of the Week

This is a pic of a lovely surprise we had this week at the practice. Paul always comes with a smile and a chipper attitude to life. We loved him, even more, this morning arriving with our favourite coffees. It’s more than the coffees we loved, it’s as they say “the thought that counts”. For me what he did was a perfect match for my primary love language - Acts of service. If you haven't checked out the 5 love languages you can HERE.

Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.


1) A docu I watched this week...

Planet of the Humans.Planet of the Humans is a 2019 American environmental documentary film that was written, directed, and produced by Jeff Gibbs. It was backed and promoted by Michael Moore, who was the executive producer. The central thesis of the film is that reductions in consumption and population might be needed because humans can't rely on green energy to achieve sustainability. One reason is that sustainability encompasses areas beyond fossil fuel concerns, (like species‘ extinctions due to habitat loss through agriculture). Another is that human energy needs are too great. And finally, the green energy movement is corrupt and misleading. Not sure how much is a version of the truth, but it does leave you thinking.


2) A coaching program I launched...

Thrive Boardroom.This exciting coaching program is designed to help business owners thrive in these uncertain times. The word crisis means many things including “a stage in a sequence of events at which the trend of all future events, especially for better or for worse, is determined. A turning point.” I believe that for many businesses the current crisis has within it an opportunity. It’s an opportunity that they need to work for. It’s going to require skilling up and stepping up. Pushing and working harder than ever. In this program, I work with businesses around four keys. Certainty, Vitality, Growth, and Tribe.

3) A new thing I’m having a go at...

Barefoot Running. I had a great barefoot running session with Coach Mick this week. After buying my barefoot runners I decided my son and I needed some pro advice. Running has been a key ingredient to maintaining my physical and mental health. Something I want to be able to do into my 70’s+, means I need to get it right now. Mick is super knowledgeable about everything running. He recorded my before and after running time and showed a dramatic improvement after implementing some simple yet important strategies.
