Pic of the Week

Started my kiteboarding πŸͺ journey this morning with some lessons from a mate. Brad said “No probs mate, you’ll get it easy, have ya jumpin’ before you know it. Trust me.” Now believing him at this point was my first mistake. The second was putting down my coffee and picking up the bar attached to a 9m kite in 40-knot winds.

So the picture on the left was the promise 😁, and the pictures on the right turned out to be the realityπŸ€•.

3.7sec is all it took for me to launch at full torque (I thought my car had some torque, but that’s nothing compared to a kite in 40knot winds) into the beach.

Bruised and grazed hip and feet plus a nasty whiplash. Got to say I am hooked. 😁 Guess what I want for my birthday next week… πŸŽ‰

2) A good old-fashioned thing Michelle and I did...

Picnic in the Park.Yep this week Dan let us out to meet another couple for a picnic. So, Michelle and I took the opportunity to meet some friends in the park about 500m up the road from our home. Good simple old fun, picnic blanket, cheese platter, some takeaway pizza from Girl and Bull and a bottle of sparkling water.

3) A new TV series on Apple TV I have started...

Long Way Up. In a return from a “Long way round” and “Long way down” actor Ewan McGregor and his friend, Charley Boorman, travel 13,000 miles around Central and South America on electric Harley Davidson motorcycles. This is a super relaxing TV series to watch a couple of blokes travel through amazing countryside, meeting interesting people and experiencing the trials and tribulations of riding bikes across diverse and challenging terrain.

Anyone else interested in doing a bike ride with me?

Seriously, next year let’s do one. 😁
