Pic of the Week
Whoever thought a picture at the cinema would make pic of the week. But it has. This week we are out of lockdown and the cinemas have opened. Frankston Hoyts is amazing. Recliner seat, a glass of wine from their bar, and some Nando’s from downstairs you just can't beat it. Throw in a good Liam Neeson action movie (The Honest Thief) and I’m in heaven.
How about you? What has been your return to normal special treat?
Here are the top three things that have made a difference in my week.
They might also be useful for you, or not.
1) An amazing retreat I attended...
Abundance Global - Unfair Advantage. Every year I spend a weekend reviewing the year before and planning for the following year. Over the last few years, I’ve done it in November before December madness hits and the hangovers (literally and metaphorically) from the start of January linger. I find doing it now sets me up for a strong finish to the year and has me hitting the next year with momentum. Most people are still warming up until Australia day (some Easter) before they get into their stride. Do I take time off? Yes, absolutely. Time off from IN the business but not as much time off from ON the business. My “war room” wall is now covered in plans for the assault on 2021 and beyond. Watch out 2021, big things are in store.
The link above gives you access to some of the work I do before, that helps set me in the right mood for THINKING BIG.
What about you? Have you started to think about 2021?
No, do not say “I still need to finish 2020 first”. Get ahead, go into NYE knowing where you want to take your life, business, relationships, health, money, and career now. It is so exciting and scary at the same time.
2) Something I bought with a surprise inside...
Wetsuit for kiteboarding. I have been feeling the cold learning to kiteboard, which could be the hours I spend getting smashed into the water. Anyway I found these guys online, and bought super cool kiteboarding wetsuit. When I got the order confirmation, I realized they were based in the UK. To my amazement the order was due for delivery 9 days later. When it arrived 9 days later (amazing, that can happen all the way from the UK) I was so excited to unwrap it. When I did it looked and felt amazing. Then I noticed a big lump in the leg of the wetsuit. Reaching in I felt something that felt like a shoe. On pulling it out, I found it was an old mud and grass covered shoe! In a brand-new wetsuit! Super weird! I have emailed them with a “please explain”.
Have you ever received anything weird in the mail?
3) Great Service I got this week...
Quest Frankston. Bonnie from APSO situated in the Quest Building Frankston gave me and a group of other business owners amazing service this week as we gathered for our virtual live retreat. (The actual conference is held in Brisbane). I have just booked the room again for our Chiropractic Team’s annual vision planning session, where we set the vision for our chiropractic practice. What we envision for our patients, our team, and the business. What impact we plan to make on the health of our community and how we will grow. Whilst we could do it at the practice, a change in the environment often helps in expanding our thinking. The room only costs $200 for a half-day and is money well spent.
If you are wanting a local space to think big check it out. Ps. This organization is National.
P.s. The quote of the week is...
“One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn't do.” Henry Ford
I would love your feedback on what had an impact on you and the lesson in it, moral of the story, or learning you would share.
Have a ripper finish to your week.
